- Hartmut Schick (46), currently Head of Global Communications at Daimler AG, is to take over as Head of the Daimler Buses business unit
- Harald Landmann (63), hitherto head of the Daimler Buses business unit, is to retire end of February 2009
Stuttgart, Germany, Jun 26, 2008 - The Board of Management of Daimler AG has made the following personnel decisions:
Hartmut Schick (46), currently Head of Global Communications at Daimler AG, will become the new head and Chairman of the Management of EvoBus GmbH and of the Daimler Buses business unit as of January 1, 2009 subject to approval of the EvoBus Supervisory Board. In this position, he will be the successor to Harald Landmann (63), who will retire as of February 28, 2009. Mr. Schick, a graduate in engineering, will thus return to the Group�s operating business. Landmann will be supporting his successor throughout his adjustment to the new job.
Harald Landmann joined the Mercedes-Benz plant in Gaggenau after completing his studies of mechanical engineering in 1980. In 1991, he became head of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kassel, and following the foundation of EvoBus GmbH in 1995 he took over responsibility for the production of the Setra brand. After various positions as head of the EvoBus product line and head of the Daimler Group�s entire worldwide bus production Landmann became chairman of the EvoBus management and head of Daimler Buses business unit in November 2006.
Following his studies of mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe, Hartmut Schick joined Daimler-Benz AG in 1986, and was at first active in the areas of research, production and marketing. From 1997 until 1999, he was in charge of establishing the Mercedes-Benz plant in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. In 1999, Mr. Schick became Chief of Staff of the Chairman of the Board of Management; in 2002, the Board of Management appointed him Head of Global Communications at Daimler AG.
