Toyota 1/X Concept
As we said before, with the Tokyo Show close, were gonna be invaded with Asian concepts. After yesterday weve presented the Honda Puyo and the Honda Cr-Z Concept, today were gonna have a whole bunch of them. Heres the first one, the Toyota 1/X Concept. The car, which looks a lot like the current Prius, is a concept vehicle that maintains an interior space on par with that of the Prius. Using carbon fiber reinforced plastic, Toyota engineers managed to reduce the weight of the Toyota 1/X concept to about one-third that of the Prius.
The 1/X uses fossil fuel (FFV) technology and a plug-in hybrid powertrain and is powered by a 500cc motor that allows charging from an external power source. Toyota says that the 1/X has a long electric-motor cruising range and while have low CO2 emissions. More photos after the jump.
