Best American Car for under $40k.

Imagine yourself in a situation where you are left only with American cars. All the German, Japanese and other big manufacturers have been banned because they didn't meat American standarts, and you are suppose to pick from the worst of the worst. You have a $40000 budget, you want the car to be fast, family friendly and economical. Trucks are out of the consideration, so are regular sedans. You are left with CTS, Mustang, Camaro, Challenger and Charger. I would pick Mustang without a question, because when you think of America, you think of burgers, fat people, and that horse stuck up on the radiator of that Ford, called Mustang. But that's me, we're not talking about me, we're talking about an average American with a wife and 2 kids and a dog. Kids like speed, they like roller coasters and like to have fun. They are careless, they don't pay bills and they just think of their toys and how to have fun, and yet, they are so lovely, and I don't see a way that any parent wouldn't want they kid to have fun. But there's also safety. Ford is pretty safe and it does 31 MPG, which is just awesome. They are the cheapest out of all, at $22k you can get the basic package, and at $36k you get the GT Premium Package. They are also comfortable. They break, but every car breaks, and out of all American cars, ford breaks the least. But the problem is, it's 2-door, and if you have 2 kids and a dog, there's not a lot of space. So that car is good for a sunday drive, but not a good family car. Then there's Camaro (or Challenger). You probably understood that I would say the same thing about Camaro, but it's a little cheaper. Maximum configuration cost $34000 and it's faster than Mustang (not shelby), but it does only 29MPG. It's less than Mustang. So that one also is out of the question. CTS Sport Sedan is the closest you can get, with optional 3L V6 Rear Wheel Drive. But it does only 26MPG avg and it cost $39000. But you get more comfort, it's safer, and after all, it's luxurious. We'll save that for later. Chrysler 300C is out of the question. Even though it's cheap, but it's not just the price. It's also the quality. Suspension is so soft that it can't react to bumps quickly enough. It's giant radiator makes it look nice, but overall, it's ghetto. It's low-quality interior, and extremely underpowered engine. That's what truly symbolizes Chrysler. How about Lincoln MKZ Hybrid? I hate hybrids, but ey, it's not about me, it's about that family guy. For $35k you get 38.5 avg mpg, highest out of all, you get most comfortable out of all, and probably the second slowest right after Chrysler. But it's true luxury, and even it gets even better. It's not related to GM Motors in any way. It's a Ford. Driving position is good, and seats are supportive. it has 263hp V6. You can get regular MKZ AWD for 37k, but your MPG drops to 26 avg. But we need that speed right? And the only car that matches everything we need, Comfort, Safety, Economy and Speed is Cadillac CTS.
