The Jetta Sportwagen TDI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct ?injection engine that grants 140 horsepower, 235 pound-feet of torque, ?and around 44 miles per gallon. With the combo of power, style, and ?fuel efficiency, VW hopes to appeal to a new generation of American ?drivers that have not been jaded by the dirty old diesels. Volkswagen ?stirred excitement among those young drivers with the Sportwagen ?unveiling in 2007�but soon after, the car�s March 2008 release in ?North American markets was indefinitely postponed.
