NICO ATTENDS �BALL DES SPORTS� IN WIESBADEN

MERCEDES GP PETRONAS driver Nico Rosberg and Mercedes DTM driver Ralf Schumacher were two of 1800 specially invited guests at the 40th �Ball des Sports� held on Saturday 6 February in Wiesbaden, Germany. In keeping with the grandeur of the occasion, Schumacher arrived at the wheel of the official DTM Safety Car, a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.
Also on the guest list were Vivian Sibold, Nico�s girlfriend, and a host of other German sports personalities, including Maria Riesch, Steffi Nerius, Regina Halmich, Henry Maske, Sven Ottke, Timo Hildebrand and Franziska van Almsick.
Some of the guests like swimming World champion Paul Biedermann, javelin world champion Steffi Nerius and Werner E. Klatten, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, even enjoyed a ride in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG driven by Nico. On the evening, Nico commented: "I�m glad that I can represent Mercedes-Benz at such an important event and that I can drive the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, even better!"
Deutsche Sporthilfe, the German Sports Aid Foundation, had invited guests from the worlds of politics, business and entertainment to its 40th Anniversary Ball, including Vice Chancellor of Germany and Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, Federal Minister of the Interior Thomas de Maizi�re, Minister-President of Hessen Roland Koch and Members of the Board of Management of Daimler AG Dr. Thomas Weber and Bodo Uebber.
The event, held in aid of German sporting excellence, had the theme of �A Night on Ice� as a reference to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. At eight different activity stations, guests were able to try their hand at various winter sports such as curling and ice hockey. In the area set aside as the �DTM Race Club�, complete with the original Trilux AMG Mercedes C-Class DTM race car of Ralf Schumacher, guests danced into the early hours to music from live performers and DJs.
