SLR Speedster special limited edition spied during test run
Mercedes-Benz and McLaren will end their partnership in less than an year;this means also the death for the current SLR McLaren series. Until then, both manufacturers felt they had something more to say and now they are testing a special limited edition of an SLR 722. We are talking about the SLR Speedster model, which has the mission to bring back good memories from year 1955, when Stirling Moss and his 300 SLR won together the tough Mille Miglia race, precisely at 7:22 AM. The SLR Speedster will feature a super aerodynamical body, with no roof and only a small wind screen. No side windows, no air conditioning system, but plenty of composite materials used for the body panels and other parts of the supercar. This loss-weight extensive program will make the new SLR Speedster 200 kilogrames lighter than the "ordinary" SLR 722. Furthermore, the increase in performance will be substantial, with only 26 seconds required to reach 300 km/h starting from 0, while the max. velocity will be simply stunning, at around 350 km/h. The SLR Speedster will be built in only 75 examples, each having a very exclusive price tag:450000 euros. So, start saving some money in case you want this car!Although, it will be hard to make it road legal...
